We start in romantic Casablanca with a private walking tour of the city. Before we leave for the capital of Morocco, Rabat, we will visit the exotic Hassan II Mosque. Over the next few days we are visiting the Roman ruins of Volubilis, explore the triple arched Tingis gate, the columns of the Capitoline temple and much more. We'll then continue to the Rif Mountains & Talassemtane National Park and to Chefchaouen, known as the Blue City. The following days include visiting the Akchour Falls and God's Bridge, Fes el Bali medina in the imperial city of Fes, which is the oldest and largest medieval city in the world. We soon come to the Atlas Mountains & Ifrane which is a French built Swiss village.

 Today we are climbing aboard our camels for an incredible trek into the Sahara Desert to watch a beautiful sunset and spend the night at our remote Berber Camp. The morning brings a sunrise camel trek back from the camp and we venture by bus to Tinghir, home to the largest silver mine in Africa. During our drive we will enjoy the perfumed Valley of Roses. This valley is famous for the miles of rose hedgerows that colour the landscape pink.

Our journey continues at the UNESCO World Heritage listed Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou at Ouarzazate. Here we learn about the ancient tradition of kasbah life and travel along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs to Ouarzazate. Many films have been shot in this area including 'Gladiator' and 'Jewel of the Nile'.  Soon we arrive at Marrakech, Morocco's pink city. Marrakesh's heady sights and sounds will dazzle and enchant you. Put on your babouches (leather slippers) and dive right in.

Activity level

Before requesting a spot on this tour, we want you to consider the activity and comfort level of this tour. There may be periods of extreme heat. Our overnight in the desert includes two camel rides lasting an hour and a half each and our tent has 2 beds and bathroom facilities in each tent. There will be periods of walking on sand or uneven pathways without railings and travelling in a van for long periods of time.
